Job Summary
 
 
  • The successful candidate will work with the Head of Corporate Communications & PR to develop and execute external communications strategies and to organize media coverage of the company’s activities to support the Company’s plans. Apart from this, the successful candidate will be responsible for:-

  • Design, implement and maintain Oracle and MySQL database systems

Reviews, develops, and designs database data models using standard diagramming techniques, in conjunction with application development teams; creates logical data models and translates into physical database structures that integrate with existing or proposed database  
-
  • Provide support and assistance to programmer/analysts and other DBAs - setting up development environments and providing database expertise to aid with programming work including PL/SQL, C, using tools such as Oracle SQL Developer/Toad

  • Perform database systems administration,  performance monitoring and tuning, database installation, patching, configuration, troubleshooting, backup and recovery for clients

  • Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business and client needs

  • Develop all necessary documentation, policies and procedures

Assist with production troubleshooting 24/7 and ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities.

Engage in self-directed learning of new database technologies as the company engages in them.

Working knowledge of Java tools and technologies (J2EE, servlets, JSP etc) are an added advantage.  
 
     
 
Requirements
 
 
-
  • A Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a computer-related field with at least two (2) years full-time experience as an MySQL/Oracle Database Administrator/Developer

  • Good working knowledge of MySQL and Oracle RDBMS administration and troubleshooting techniques

  • Experience with Linux platform or other UNIX platform will be an added advantage

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills
-
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative manner with all stakeholders

Readiness to be on 24/7 standby to support mission-critical clients
