ICT Security Training Program

  Being the leading ICT Security Solutions Provider, SCAN as a knowledge-based company believes in enrichment of knowledge
and work experiences.

We recognise that the importance of ICT security training is due to:-
its emergence as an essential part of staff development in any organisation;
the need to better manage any IT Department and for employees managing the IT Department to be equipped with the latest IT knowledge and applications;
SCAN’s approach of training is focused in delivering the customer needs and wants. Programs may be customised to ensure that the training meets our clients organisational/departmental goals.

How is the training conducted?
The training is conducted by our in-house security consultants who have vast industry experience and knowledge. They are highly certified in various areas in ICT security. SCAN has one of the largest number of CISSP holders under one roof in Malaysia.

What is the duration of the training classes?
The duration varies, depending on the levels of the program from an average of 2 to 4 days.

What are the facilities available at the SCAN Training Centre?
Most of the training sessions are conducted at our complete training centre, which can cater up to 25 participants for soft skills and 20 participants for ICT security training. It is equipped with the latest conference facilities like LCD Projector, Flip Chart, Screen Projector and Internet Connection. In addition, our training rooms are also available for rental.

What is the training method used?
The SCAN Approach is a comprehensive, result-driven training method that caters specifically to our client’s training requirements and aims at producing highly competent ICT users. Participants are exposed to training materials that cover theoretical insights, practical case studies, simulations and hands-on practical testing. Our consultants also share their work experience during the training sessions and encourage interactive participation from trainees.

Is there any certification given after the training is completed?
Upon completion of the training, participants will be awarded with SCAN’s Certificate of Participation, provided that they meet with all requirements including full attendance, mini tests and hands-on simulations. Post-training evaluations on all sessions are conducted to gauge the effectiveness of our training sessions.

What are the type of courses offered?
We offer various types of ICT security training, ranging from network security-based programmes to risk advisory, from cryptography to e-Forensic and penetration testing. We also conduct management based security programmes like Business Continuity Planning and ICT Security Policy Development.

What is the overall response to your training program?
The response from participants has been tremendous. In 2007, our training centre was fully-booked two to three months in advance. In addition, we have also conducted more than 120 ICT security training sessions and more than 2,800 participants have benefited from our programs. We have trained staffs from the government agencies, financial institutions, telecommunication companies, various corporations, academicians, university students and even the general public who are interested to learn about the latest in ICT security. We hope more organisations will continue to embrace ICT security training as a requirement for staff development.
